
TCU Swimming Stays Hot with Pair of Wins Over Valparaiso

VALPARAISO, Ind. - TCU's men's and women's swimming teams continued thier hot streaks as both squads rolled to wins over Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Ind. The men collected their third-straight triumph, 104-81, while the Lady Frogs defeated the Crusaders 108-91 for their fourth victory in a row.
TCU's men posted the top time in every event they entered en route to its win. The Horned Frogs were paced by their seniors, Scott Adkins (El Paso, Texas/Franklin) and Josh Pipes (San Antonio, Texas/MacArthur). Adkins collected victories in the 200-yard individual medley (2:02.88) and as a member of the Frogs' 200 freestyle relay team (1:29.92) while Pipes also swam with the victorious 200 free relay, as well as notching an individual win of his own in the 100-yard freestyle (49.64). In all, eight different Horned Frogs posted individual wins for TCU.
On the women's side, reigning Conference USA Swimmer of the Week Jamie MacCurdy (Plano, Texas/Plano Senior) sparked the TCU effort with a pair of individual victories. MacCurdy captured the 50-yard freestyle (25.49) and 100 butterfly (1:00.97) crowns to lead TCU, which notched the top times in eight of the ten events it entered.
With the wins, the men moved over .500 for the first time this season at 3-2, while the women upped their record to 4-1.
TCU returns to action at 5 p.m. tomorrow when it takes on Notre Dame and St. Mary's in Notre Dame, Ind.
