CHICAGO, Ill. - TCU senior midfielder Nick Baker earned third-team all-conference honors from the Conference USA soccer coaches, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon. Baker, a creative playmaker for the Horned Frogs over the past four seasons, registered two goals and two assists on the season.
The senior captain started 17 games for TCU in his final campaign, and finished his career with 11 goals and 10 assists in 70 matches. He finished in the top five on the team in scoring each of his four seasons. In 1999, he was a first-team all-Western Athletic Conference choice.
"Nick is one of the best soccer players who has ever played for TCU," Associate Head Coach Blake Amos said. "It's truly a compliment that he was named all-conference and shows that the league's coaches were able to recognize who he is as a player."
Saint Louis led the way with a C-USA-record six first-team selections, followed by South Florida with two and Marquette, Memphis and Louisville with one each. The 2001 season was the Frogs' first in Conference USA.
