Women's Soccer Continues Opening Game Winning-Streak

TCU ups its record to 3-0 while LSU dropped to 1-2. TCU has shut out its last three opponents; the other two shutouts came against Houston, 1-0, on Aug. 27, and Southwest Texas, 4-0, on Sept. 1.
TCU outshot LSU, 28-3, with LSU's first shot coming in the last minute of the first half. This marks the second consecutive game that TCU's opponent has gone the first 44 minutes without a shot.
Freshman forward Sherry Dick (Arlington, Texas/Sam Houston H.S.) led the Frogs with her hat trick stemming from a team-leading 13 shots. Dick's first goal came at 3:25 with the assist from senior midfielder Allison Calleri (Arlington, Texas/Martin H.S.). Calleri and Dick teamed up again for TCU's second goal at in the 11th minute.
The Frogs scored five goals in the second half, including Dick's third of the the game and her collegiate career. TCU also gained a goal from a penalty kick by sophomore forward Jenn Coulson (Southlake, Texas/Carroll H.S.) in the 67th minute.
TCU's other goals came from junior transfer Jennifer Maunder (Colleyville, Texas/Nolan Catholic H.S.), freshman midfielder Lori Robbins (Arlington, Texas/Sam Houston) and sophomore midfielder Jeanine Rogers (Arlington, Texas/Martin).
The Frogs will face 17th-ranked Baylor at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5, in the final game of the Bear Invitational in Waco.
