Three WAC Football Players Ranked in Top 10 in Sacks

TCU senior defensive end Aaron Schobel is tied for first nationally in sacks with 2.00 per game. Fresno State senior linebacker Orlando Huff is fifth with 1.67 per outing while Schobels teammate, junior Joe Hill, is tied for ninth with 1.50 sacks per contest. SMUs Markus Pratt is also ranked 21st with 1.13 sacks per game. No other conference has three players in the top 10.
In other defensive statistics several more players are ranked. In tackles for loss, three WAC players are tied for 14th as Schobel, TCUs Shannon Brazzell and Nevadas Humphrey Garrett each are averaging 2.00 tackles for loss per game. Nevadas Donominic Cruz is 10th in passes defended with 2.00 per game. In fumbles, a category that adds forced fumbles and fumbles recovered, four players are ranked as Hill and Hawaiis Joe Correia were tied for fourth with 1.00 per game and Tulsa teammates Carl Scott and Chad Smith are tied for 15th with 0.75 per contest.
The NCAA will send out two more reports during the year, one on October 31 and a final one on December 5.
