Tarheels Defeat Soccer Frogs 6-0

DURHAM, N.C. (September 24, 2000) -- The Duke adidas Classic concluded on Sunday, September 24, with TCU losing to the fourth-ranked North Carolina Tarheels 6-0. It was the second consecutive 6-0 loss for TCU. Carolina went on to win the Duke adidas Classic after William & Mary upset eighth-ranked Duke 2-1 in the second match of the day. With the loss, TCU fell to 5-5-1 on the year.
TCU freshman goalie Shannon Wagner returned from the minor injury she suffered in Fridays match against Duke and played the entire match. Despite the loss, Wagner did record a career best 14 saves.
The loss to North Carolina concluded TCUs non-conference schedule for the 2000 season. The women will open up their WAC competition on the road against Tulsa on Friday, September 29, at 4 p.m. The Frogs return home a week from today on October 1 to play UTEP. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
