Women's Soccer Loses Rain Postponed Match

Amherst, Mass. (Sept. 10) - After the match scheduled for Friday was postponed because of rain, Harvard defeated TCU, 3-1, Saturday in the UMass Soccer Classic.
With the loss, TCU falls to 3-2 while Harvard goes to 1-0.
Harvard scored first when Julia Blain scored on a pass from Beth Totman and Bryce Weed at 28:38 to give the Crimson a 1-0 halftime advantage. Weed knocked in a pass from Beth Zotter and Orly Ripmaster at 70:36, and then Totman followed almost immediately on a pass from Joey Yenne at 71:18. TCU senior Allison Calleri (Arlington, Texas/Martin H.S.) netted the lone Horned Frog goal at 82:54.
The Crimson outshot the Frogs, 12-4. All of TCU's shots came in the second period.
Sophomores Keith-Ann Wagner (Arlington, Texas/Martin H.S.) and Danielle Reitnouer (Monrovia, Calif./St. Lucy's H.S.) shared goalkeeping duties for TCU. Wagner made eight saves and allowed three goals in 77 minutes while Reitnouer did not face any shots in 13 minutes.
In the first game of the day, UMass defeated UAB, 1-0.
TCU will face UMass, Sunday, Sept. 12, at noon (CDT) in the final game of the UMass Soccer Classic.
