Meagan Winans, a two-year letter winner for TCU women’s golf from 2023-25, joined the Horned Frogs as an assistant coach for the remainder of the 2025-26 season in January.

Winans served as team captain for TCU during the 2024-25 campaign and completed her bachelor of arts degree in sociology in December. She will work in tandem with head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin and assistant coach Kendall Ahrens in her role.

“I am thrilled to welcome Meagan to our coaching staff,” Ravaioli-Larkin said. “As a recent graduate and standout player for our program, Meagan provided exceptional leadership and unwavering responsibility, with infectious positivity and an uplifting spirit. She understands our culture from the inside out, and her incredible energy will continue to be an asset to our athletes. There is no greater reward for a coach than to have a former player return to help lead, inspire, and encourage our athletes.”

Winans was the unquestioned leader of a 2024-25 TCU team that authored one of the more remarkable seasons in the history of Horned Frogs golf. Four of the top six players in TCU’s lineup were underclassmen. Behind Winans, the squad achieved the highest year-end national ranking ever recorded by a TCU golf team (No. 15), won three tournaments and broke 17 team or individual program records, including scoring average (289) and par-or-better rounds (15).

“I am absolutely thrilled to be coming back to all my girls and to the program,” Winans said. “I can’t thank coach Larkin and coach ‘K’ enough for this new and exciting opportunity. I am excited to see what this team can accomplish – it’s going to be a great year!”

While celebrated first for her leadership, Winans graduated as one of the great players in TCU’s recent history. She started every tournament across her two years as a player in Fort Worth after transferring from Oklahoma. Winans ranks seventh in program history in career scoring average (73.4) and recorded the fourth-most birdies in a season by a Horned Frog (111) in 2024-25.

A native of nearby Plano, Texas, Winans was the rock in TCU’s lineup last season. She notched three top-10’s and placed inside the top-15 of the leaderboard in seven of her first nine starts. Winans delivered a counter in 28 of her 32 rounds played. She delivered 11 par-or-better rounds.

Winans graduated from Plano East High School in 2021. She finished as vice champion at the 2021 TX UIL 6A state championship and was graded the No. 21 overall player in her class.
