Erzhan Cochran joined the TCU Athletic Communications staff in June of 2025 as a Communications Assistant and currently serves as the primary contact for Beach Volleyball and Equestrian.
Prior to TCU, Cochran spent a year in Dallas where he was a graduate assistant for the SMU Athletics Public Relations department. During his time at SMU, he served as the primary contact for Equestrian and Men’s Swimming & Diving while also being a secondary contact for the football program during its run to the College Football Playoff.
A Knoxville, Tennessee, native, Cochran was a student assistant in the Tennessee Athletics Strategic Communications office for three years. While at UT, he served in a primary capacity for the soccer program during its 2024 spring season, along with being a secondary for the nationally-ranked swimming & diving team. Cochran also assisted with communications efforts for the women’s basketball, baseball and track & field programs.
In addition to his roles at Tennessee and SMU, Cochran served as the media coordinator of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Diving Trials in Knoxville. He also was a member of the media coordination teams for the 2023 SEC Football Championship Game, 2023 SEC Football Media Days, 2023 SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament and 2022 SEC Baseball Tournament along with different NCAA Championship events.
Cochran graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and earned a master’s degree in Sport Management from SMU in the summer of 2025.
