Dameon Myres is in his second year as the Assistant Director of the Block T Association atΒ TCU. Myres makes the move to the Block T Association after serving three years within the TCU Athletics Communications office.
Myres found his way to Fort Worth following a five-year stint at the University of Utah, where he served as Associate Director of Athletics Communications, primarily workingΒ with the Runninβ Utes menβs basketball team, along side both womenβs cross country and track & field squads. While working at the U, MyresΒ handled media and public relations efforts for NBA First Round Draft picks Jakob Poeltl and Kyle Kuzma. Throughout his time in Salt Lake City, heΒ also worked closely with the volleyball, beach volleyball, menβs golf, softball, and both menβs/womenβs swimming and diving programs.
Myres got his start in the athletic communications field working at his alma mater, Tarleton State, serving as Assistant Sports Information Director from 2007-10. He would go onto West Texas A&M from 2010-12, where he served as both Assistant Director and Associate AD of Athletic Media Relations. Myres then made the move back to StephenvilleΒ for his second stint with Tarleton, serving as Director of Athletic Communications from 2010-12.Β
A native of Azle, Texas, Myres served five years in the U.S. Army. His tours of duty included living in both South Korea (Camp Bonifas) and Ft. Carson, Colo. (10th Special Forces Group). He graduated from Tarleton State in 2013 with a bachelorβs degree in Communications.
Myres is married to the former Joni Unruh, who was an All-American basketball player at West Texas A&M. They have one daughter, Leighton (6), and a son, Cooper (1). The couple resides in Aledo.
