Antonio Wilcox
- Title:
- Running Backs Coach
Antonio Wilcox leads TCU's running backs room, a role he was named to in January 2026.
Edwards most recently worked with TCU Offensive Coordinator Gordon Sammis at UConn for three seasons (2023-25). In Storrs, Wilcox helped develop running back Cam Edwards in a 1,000-yard performer this season, the first Husky to do so since 2019. Edwards rushed for 1,240 yards on 210 carries with 15 touchdowns, all marks that rank in the top-20 nationally. Among players with 200-plus carries, Edwards’ 5.9 yards per carry average ranked No. 6 nationally.
Wilcox was also named to the 247Sports 30under30 list ahead of the 2025 season.
In 2024, Wilcox coached a three-headed monster of a backfield when Edwards, Durell Robinson, and Mel Brown all ran for at least 670 yards and 5.7 yards per carry.
Prior to UConn, Wilcox spent two seasons at his alma mater, Furman (2021-22). As a player for the Paladins, Wilcox led the team in rushing as a sophomore, junior, and senior, finishing with 1,777 yards and 21 touchdowns. In 2017, he rushed for 814 yards and 14 touchdowns to led his squad to the FCS playoffs.
Following his playing career, Wilcox spent three seasons (2018-20) at North Greenville University where he first worked as a graduate assistant with the running backs before a full-time promotion to coach the wide receivers in his last season.
Wilcox earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Furman in the spring of 2018 and secured his MBA from North Greenville in 2020.
