2020 INDOOR
Started the indoor season with a win in the one-mile with a time of 4:58.54 at the Reveille Invitational at College Station, Texas (Dec 7). Placed third at the 2020 Big 12 Championships in the mile (4:44 .21). Broke the 800m TCU indoor school record twice in two days at the conference meet (2:08.54).
SAUGUS HIGH SCHOOL
Castillo comes to TCU from southern California, where she has enjoyed success both in cross country and track. During her senior year, she won her conference cross country title with a mark of 16:56.9 (3 miles), nearly 40 seconds ahead of the runner-up. As a junior, Castillo finished fifth at the California state championship and brings a 17:33.07 5,000m mark. In track, Castillo made significant strides during her senior season by setting personal-bests in four events: 800m, 1600m, mile, and 3200m. She reached the California State Championships in the 1600m, where she ran 4:49.34 and finished seventh. At the Mt. SAC Relays, she ran her personal best 4:43.69 and finished first. In the 3200m, she ran 10:06.47 at the Southern Section Division finals and finished first. She also won the Masters Meet to advance to the California State Championships where she finished 12th. In the 800m, she improved her mark to 2:10.70, while lowering her mile time to 4:41.40.
