Competed in all four races for the Horned Frogs … made her debut in the Purple and White at the DeGray Lake Triathlon (Sept. 10) … Placed fifth overall with a time of 1:05:34.00, which ranks ninth overall in program history … Placed 18th at the Battle in the Fort Triathlon with a time of 1:10.37 (Sept. 17) … Added another top-15 finish at the USAT West Regionals with a 12th-place finish and a time of 1:05:24.48 (Oct. 14) … Her time at the USAT West Regionals ranks sixth all-time in program history … Placed 36th at Nationals (Nov. 11) with a time of 1:07:41.20.
PRIOR TO TCU
Elena Viejo made the move to TCU from Madrid, Spain. Her triathlon honors include a third-place finish at the European Junior Cup and Spanish Triathlon Qualifiers for the European Championship. Her third-place finish at the European Junior Cup qualified her to represent Spain in the 2022 World Championships in Montreal, Canada. She took home a first-place finish in both the Madrid Duathlon Championship and Spanish Duathlon Championship.
