Tyrell Brown came to TCU in December 2021 as Director of Human Performance for Football.
Brown is the Movement Specialist for football. He develops and implements training programs that include speed, agility conditioning, strength training, injury prevention and prehab and flexibility. He also assists with sport psychology and lifestyle presentations for student-athletes as well as advising practice intensities based off data recorded through GPS units.
Brown is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is also an EXOS Performance Specialist.
Prior to TCU, Brown served three years at Middle Tennessee as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the men’s and women’s tennis programs while assisting with football. Brown also worked with Troy’s football program as a graduate assistant.
Brown is a 2016 graduate of Washburn University, where he earned a bachelor of arts in exercise physiology. He was a student-athlete on the football team and a member of the program’s Leadership Council as well as Washburn’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He was a co-founder and President of the Exercise Science Club. He was then an assistant strength and conditioning coach at his alma mater, working with several sports.
