Matt Lewis is in his first season as TCU’s Assistant AD for Player Development and his 20th year overall with the Horned Frogs’ program. He previously served as the head athletics equipment manager for a decade.
Lewis’ broad range of responsibilities include office management and administration, gameday responsibilities, liaison with various athletic and university departments, team travel and assisting with recruiting visits.
Lewis serves on the Executive Committee of the Director of Football Operations Meetings as the Big 12 liaison.
TCU marked Lewis’ fourth stop as an equipment manager. He arrived from Iowa State, where he served as head equipment manager for three years following one season as an assistant in charge of football at Wake Forest.
Lewis received his bachelor’s degree in sports management and marketing from Marshall in 1996. He was the Thundering Herd’s head equipment manager for football from 1995-99.
Lewis formerly served as the associate executive director of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association. He was recognized with the AEMA’s Glenn Sharp Award, which is the organization’s top honor, in 2010.
A native of Scott Depot, W.Va., Lewis and his wife, Stefanie, have two daughters: Madison and Jordyn.
