Eron Hodges is in his second season as TCU's director of recruiting while also serving as a defensive analyst, working primarily with the cornerbacks on Head Coach Sonny Dykes' staff.
Hodges made the move to Fort Worth after serving one season as a recruiting coordinator and defensive analyst at Louisville. Prior to his stint with the Cardinals, Hodges served as recruiting coordinator at Texas Tech. Before that, he spent two years as director of player personnel at Purdue. In his first season at Purdue, Hodges helped the Boilermakers sign the highest-rated recruiting class in over a decade. Purdue’s 2019 class was ranked No. 25 nationally by 247sports.com.
Prior to his stop in West Lafayette, Ind., Hodges served as assistant director of player personnel at Ohio State. He joined the Buckeyes’ recruiting staff as an analyst in 2015 after previously serving as a strength and conditioning coach.
Hodges spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Kent State, where he worked with the linebackers. He began his career in collegiate athletics as an Olympic sports strength and conditioning coach at Notre Dame in 2012, while also making stints as linebackers coach at Valparaiso (2012) and Saint Joseph’s (2015).
Coming out of high school, Hodges served four years in the U.S. Navy. After the Navy, he earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Illinois State in 2012. He received a master’s degree in sports management from Kent State in 2015.
