Senior (2021-22)
Placed fourth and fifth in the 100 and 200 breaststroke with times of 53.71 and 1:57.36, respectively, at the Big 12 Championships (Feb. 23-26) … Placed in the Top 5 in both the 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke against SMU (Oct. 29) … Finished fourth overall in the 100 breaststroke in the season-opener against UIW (Sept. 24).
Junior (2020-21)
Placed second in both the 100 and 200 breast against Missouri (Oct. 16)… Finished third in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 1:51.84 against SMU (Oct. 23)… Placed third in both the 100 and 200 breast against Texas A&M (Nov. 6)… Took second in the 100 and 200 breast against Florida State (Nov. 14)… Earned a fifth-place finish in the 100 breast and a sixth-place finish in the 200 breast at the Big 12 Championships (Feb. 24-28).
Sophomore (2019-20)
Placed fourth in the 100 yard breaststroke (58.46) and third in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:06.05), contributed to the third place finish in the 200 yard medley relay (1:33.76) at the vs. UIW meet in Fort Worth (Nov.6).

Part of the 200 medley relay team that placed first (1:35.01), won the 50 breast (27.80) and 100 breast (59.43) and second in the 100 IM (54.12) in season opener at home with UT-Permian Basin (Sept. 22) … was part of the first-place team in the 200 medley relay (1:35.16) at home against Ouachita Baptist (Dec. 8) … part of the 400 medley relay team that placed fourth (3:27.93), third in the 200 breast (2:07.42) and placed fourth in the 100 breast (58.49) at West Virginia (Jan. 12) … placed third in the 200 breast (1:58.28), part of 400 medley relay relay team that finished third (3:15.55) and placed fifth in the 100 breast (55.23) at the Big 12 Championships in Austin (Feb. 27-March 3)
Personal
McPherson comes to TCU from Wichita, Kan., where he swam multiple events for Wichita East High. McPherson had a breakout senior season, setting personal-bests across the board in events including 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 100 breast, 200 breast, and 200 IM. He was a two-time Speedo Champions Series finalist and three-time Kansas state finalist.
