Cooper Sholder was named the Director of Baseball Operations in the summer of 2021. He remains with the baseball program in his new role after serving as the Equipment Coordinator for baseball and rifle since 2015. He began his TCU career as a graduate assistant before moving into a fulltime role in 2017.
Sholder attended San Diego State University where he served as a student manager for the baseball team for three years before taking on the role of Director of Baseball Operations as well as the Manager duties for his final two years of college.
In his role as the equipment manager, Sholder helped with day-to-day operations where tasks include, but were not limited to, laundry services, practice set up and break down, bullpen management, various game day operations and in-game duties. He also served as the lead contact when it comes to procurement of product from Wilson/DeMarini/EvoShield as well as being a part of the Nike Test Footwear program. Additionally, he traveled with the team on all road trips to handle equipment operations as well as other in-game tasks. During home competitions, Sholder was charged with handling all bat testing protocols, game charting as well as serving as a liaison for the visiting team and umpires. TCU has participated in four of the last five postseasons and advanced to the College World Series twice.
In his time with the rilfe, the program has been selected to four straight NCAA Championships. The was the 2019 NCAA National Champions and finished runner-up in 2018 and 2021.
A December 2014 graduate of San Diego State, Sholder received his Athletic Equipment Manager Certification in 2020.
Cooper and his wife, Taylor, reside in Fort Worth with their daughter, Lennon, and son, Hobie.
