* Full-time undergraduate TCU students in good academic and disciplinary standing.
* High school seniors with provisional admission.
* Undergraduate transfer students with provisional admission.
* All potential candidates must have a physical completed by the physician of their choice within the six-month period prior to tryouts. The physical must be completed at the candidate’s expense.
* Candidates must be covered by health/hospitalization insurance in an amount comparable to the minimum coverage offered through the University’s student insurance program.
* We do not have specific weight or height restrictions. However, candidates must demonstrate sufficient physical fitness and appropriate training to safely and effectively perform all required skills.
What are the privileges of being a TCU Showgirl?
* TCU Showgirls proudly perform and generate spirit for one of the top athletics programs in the Big 12 Conference - GO FROGS!
* TCU Showgirls are recognized nationally and throughout the Fort Worth community and DFW metroplex!
* The Showgirls perform at all TCU home and away football games, home men’s and women’s basketball games (including select postseason tournaments), and select home baseball games. Limited travel positions are available.
* Squad members also make public appearances and perform at many other events for the TCU Athletic Department and the University throughout the season.
* Showgirls perform an “Extravaganza” routine, showing their skills and abilities at both a home football game in the Fall, and a basketball game in the Spring.
* As a squad member, there is no financial obligation. All uniforms, practice wear, travel expenses, and meal per diem are graciously provided by TCU.
* Showgirls often leave the program having gained lifelong friendships, invaluable experiences and lessons that extend far beyond their time on the team!
What are the responsibilities of a TCU Showgirl?
* TCU Showgirls is a major time commitment for both fall and spring semesters. The commitment is for a full year, running from June 1 following auditions through May 31 of the following year.
* Regular team practices are held up to three times per week and last approximately 2–3 hours per session. Additional practices are required prior to games, and extra practices may be scheduled as needed.
*Practice is canceled along with school classes during holidays. Games during these times are NOT canceled. Local members cheer at the Holiday games. Select team members are chosen for bowl games over winter break and basketball tournaments over spring break. Notice and schedules are available far in advanced for planning purposes.
* Mandatory workouts are required two times per week in addition to regular practices.
Does the squad compete?
* We do not compete. Our primary focus is game day performances and supporting TCU Athletics and University events.
How many spots are open for next year’s team? Are there alternate positions available?
* There are not a set number of spots available. Everyone must re-audition every year to earn a spot on the team. We currently do not offer alternate positions, but you can always audition again next year!
