Pilot Program for Beer Sales FAQ
In order to enhance the fan experience, TCU Athletics is very excited to announce a new pilot program of beer sales at all remaining home baseball games in 2018. Beginning with the May 2 game against Dallas Baptist, we'll have a unique opportunity for fans to purchase beer from our concession stands. With this experiment, safety and cultivating responsible behavior is of the utmost importance and our top priority.

Frequently Asked QuestionsWhy is TCU now having beer sales for the general public at its games?
TCU, which has already had alcohol sales for several years in club and suite areas inside Amon G. Carter Stadium, Schollmaier Arena and Lupton Stadium, is keeping up with a national trend. The sales in open seating areas for remaining home baseball games is a pilot program. After the season, an internal review will determine the feasibility for the future in either an expanded role at baseball games or other athletics venues.¨¨
TCU is always looking to enhance the fan experience, and beer sales have been a popular request through the years. The timing is now right. Results of this pilot program will help us evaluate any extensions of this endeavor. As part of the experimental process, an evaluation is also being made on a resulting new stadium policy of the elimination of in-and-out privileges.
Why can't I re-enter the stadium like I always have?
In benchmarking other institutions, the elimination of the in-and-out policy goes hand-in-hand with alcohol sales.
When will beer sales be open and closed?
Sales will begin one hour prior to first pitch, when the stadium gates open, and conclude at the start of the top of the seventh inning.
Will bottles or cans be available?
No. Beer will be poured and served in opaque plastic cups.
Will additional restrooms be added?
Yes. Additional restrooms will be added behind screened fencing down the right-field line.
Where do I go to purchase a beer?
Beer sales will take place at the main concession stands on the concourse of the stadium.
What are the beer prices?
16-ounce domestic beers are $7, while 12-ounce craft and imported beers are also $7.
Can students buy beer?
TCU's policy will be to check the IDs for anyone who looks under 30 years old. If students present a valid ID proving they are 21 years of age, they are permitted to purchase a beer.
How are you making sure only persons 21-and-older are buying and consuming alcohol?
Anyone who looks under 30 years old will be asked to show an ID at the time of purchase. Extra security on hand will also be monitoring the stands to ensure that anyone with a beer is of legal age.¨¨
What are you going to do with unruly fans?
As always, anyone creating a disturbance or taking away the enjoyment of the game by others will be escorted out of the stadium by security.
Will accommodations be made for those who are unable to drive?
TCU Athletics, through our partner Ben E. Keith, will offer a ride-share program with Lyft. Drop off and pick up will be at the cul-de-sac in Lot 14, behind home plate. A special offer, featuring a $10 credit for users 21-and-older, is available for the May 11-13 weekend series versus West Virginia. Please see below:
