Former Student-Athlete Rodriguez Hired By ESPN Regional

FORT WORTH, Texas - ESPN Regional General Manager Brian Florko announced the hiring of Jackie Rodriguez as account executive. ESPN Regional is the official multi-media rights holder of TCU Athletics.
"Jackie's first-hand experience and knowledge of TCU Athletics will provide her a great start on what we believe to be a promising career. She is energetic, passionate about TCU Athletics and has experience on both the broadcasting and sales side of our industry," Florko said. "These skills will be a valuable asset to our company internally and to TCU's corporate sponsors."
Rodriguez succeeds Scott Pomeroy, who was promoted by ESPN Regional to Director of Operations for the PlainsCapital Fort Worth Bowl in June of 2003. ESPN Regional owns and operates the newly created bowl game, which will be played on December 23, 2003 in TCU's Amon Carter Stadium. It will pit a team from the Big XII Conference against a team from Conference USA.
Rodriguez, a 2001 graduate of TCU, was a four-year letterwinner (1997-2000) on the Horned Frog women's soccer team. She was a dominant defensive player for head coach David Rubinson, starting 89 of 92 games throughout her career. Rodriguez recorded six career goals and six career assists as a defender. She was elected team captain in 2000.
After earning her bachelor's degree in Radio/TV/Film from TCU, Rodriguez worked for CBS-11/KTVT in Fort Worth/Dallas, followed by a sales position with Perkins Paper of Boston, Mass. The native of Sunnyvale, Calif. was an intern in the TCU Sports Marketing Department in the fall of 2001.
ESPN Regional Television (ERT) is the nation's largest syndicator of collegiate sports programming and produces more than 600 sporting events annually, accounting for more than 2,000 live and/or original hours of programming. ERT produces events for national, regional, and local networks, serves as the exclusive syndication rightsholder for college conferences (e.g. - Big Ten, Big East. Big XII, Conference USA, Mid-American, WAC, and Mountain West) and exclusive marketing rightsholder for select schools (TCU, Kansas, Oregon, UNLV, Iowa State, UAB, and South Florida)
ESPN Regional Television markets and/or owns several other sporting events. Examples include the PlainsCapital Fort Worth Bowl, Sheraton Hawaii Bowl, Las Vegas Bowl, The Home Depot College Football Awards, ACC-Big Ten Challenge, and The Las Vegas Showdown.
