TCU Athletics Institutes New Policy
Sept. 18, 2001
In the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania, TCU Athletics and the TCU Police are instituting extra security measures for its athletic events. Under the new policy, fans will not be allowed to bring any bags, coolers or backpacks into any TCU athletic venue.
"In following the trend of athletic facilities around the country, we believe it is in the best interest of our fans to tighten the security in and around our athletic venues," said Steve McGee, TCU Chief of Police. "These steps are being implemented as a precautionary measure in the wake of last Tuesday's events," continued McGee. "We hope our fans understand the need for these changes and continue to support TCU Athletics as they have in the past."
The new policy takes effect immediately.
