Tim George has joined the TCU athletics staff as marketing director, TCU Associate Athletics Director Kevin O'Connell announced today.
In his role, George will oversee the marketing for all 20 intercollegiate sports at TCU coordinating the advertising and game day presentation for all events while also working closely with ESPN Regional to maximize attendance and revenues for TCU Athletics.
George comes to Fort Worth from the University of Georgia, where he has served as the athletic department's Associate Director of Marketing and Promotions. During his four-year stint at Georgia, he was involved in the day-to-day marketing of all sports. Prior to his arrival at Georgia, George worked for one year as a marketing and promotions graduate intern at the University of Florida.
"We are excited to have Tim join our TCU family," said O'Connell. "He brings a variety of ideas and experiences from his stops at Missouri, Florida and most recently, Georgia. He brings a high-energy level to our marketing team."
"Tim did an outstanding job for the Bulldogs," said Avery McLean, Georgia's Associate Athletic Director - Marketing. "His departure leaves a big void in our marketing department and I'm confident he'll do an outstanding job at TCU."
George is a 1995 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a bachelor of science degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism with an emphasis in sports marketing and management. While at Mizzou, he served as a student intern in the athletics marketing and promotions area.
