Ten Frogs Honored For Strength & Conditioning
March 20, 2003
Ten TCU Horned Frogs have been named All-American Strength and Conditioning Athletes of the Year, according to the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
TCU was represented by football players John Turntine, LaTarence Dunbar, Jared Smitherman, Jamal Powell and Jason Goss; soccer player Lori Robbins; swimmers Erin Irons and Melissa Powell; volleyball player Stephanie Watson; and women's basketball standout Tiffany Evans.
"The honor received by the student-athletes reflects a lot of hard work, desire and dedication that they have given to their respective programs. They are leaders in the weight room and their efforts certainly paid off in their competitive venues," said Don Sommer, TCU Strength and Conditioning Coach.
The NSCA All-American Strength and Conditioning Athletes of the Year program recognizes those collegiate athletes whose athletic accomplishments, in the opinion of their strength coach, reflect their dedication to strength training and conditioning. These athletes are also recognized for their academic and personal accomplishments and their integrity as student athletes.
Power Systems, Inc. is the official sponsor of the program.
