Three Frogs Earn All-American Athlete Honors

Colorado Springs, Colo. - Chad McCarty, Chad Bayer and Tricia Payne have been selected by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as All-American Athletes for 2002, the NSCA announced today.
McCarty and Bayer were standouts on the football field for the Horned Frogs, while Payne is a member of TCU's women's basketball squad. All three were nominated for the award by TCU Strength and Conditioning Coach Don Sommer, based on their dedication to strength training and conditioning.
The 2002 All-American Strength and Conditioning Athletes are recognized for their athletic accomplishments, academic and personal achievements, community involvement and leadership qualities. This year, 184 athletes from 84 college and universities from across the country in 19 competitive sport categories were acknowledged for their passion and hard work in and out of the weight room.
The NSCA All-American athlete of the year award program is in its 19th year and made possible by a grant from Power Systems, Inc., a Knoxville, Tennessee fitness product leader.
