TCU Athletics to Honor Legends on Saturday Night
Feb. 27, 2004
FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU Athletics Department will recognize a group of "TCU Legends" on Saturday, Feb. 28 at halftime of the TCU-Houston men's basketball game. The criteria for being named a legend was "one who brought noteriety and prestige to the university via an NCAA-record-setting performance, was a standout All-American or national champion, was the first to accomplish a major feat, or had a significant achievement as a professional athlete, coach or staff member."
Among the legends who will be in attendance are: former men's golfer Charles Coody (winner of the 1971 Master's), former men's track star Kim Collins (NCAA champion), former football player Lindy Berry (All-American tail back) and former women's golfer Angela Stanford (four-time All-American). In addition, several more legends will be at the event, while others will be represented by their families.
The game, TCU's final home contest of the year, will tip off at 7:05 p.m. (CT). It will be the final home appearance for TCU seniors Nucleus Smith and Ronald Hobbs, who will be honored in a pregame Senior Day ceremony. To order tickets, call (817) 257-FROG.
