Brahmas To Host TCU Appreciation Night
Feb. 23, 2004
The Fort Worth Brahmas will honor Texas Christian University this Friday, February 27th when they hold their first ever TCU Appreciation Night in conjunction with their 7:30 p.m. home game at the Fort Worth Convention Center against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs.
The Brahmas players will be wearing commemorative TCU themed jerseys for the game. The jerseys will feature the TCU colors of purple and white, and the front of the jerseys will be emblazoned with a Horned Frog crest. Brahmas logo patches will adorn the shoulders of the jerseys. All of the game worn jerseys will be auctioned off in a live auction open to the public immediately following the game. A portion of the proceeds from the auction of the jerseys will be donated to the TCU General Scholarship Fund.
The TCU cheerleaders and showgirls will be on hand to participate in the game activities. Members of the TCU football team are expected to be at the game as well. The TCU band will also be at the game, performing throughout the game action and the intermissions.
Discounted tickets for the game have been made available to the TCU Frog Club, the TCU Letterman's Association, and the TCU Kid's Club. The fraternities and sororities at TCU have also received discounted tickets to the game, and a large representation from the TCU Greek Life will be at the game and involved in intermission activities. Additionally, TCU students with a valid student ID can purchase tickets for the game against the Mudbugs on the night of the game at the FWCC box office for a discounted price of $10 per ticket.
Mike Barack, the Brahmas sixth-year general manager, is excited about the cooperative event with TCU.
"One of our objectives as the pro hockey team of Fort Worth is to become an ingrained part of the Fort Worth community. By partnering with TCU and recognizing the TCU students, athletes, alumni and supporters, we are showing our support for an outstanding educational and athletic institution. We are proud to have the chance to recognize and promote TCU at our hockey game in front of our fans and the rest of the Central Hockey League," he stated.
In another event related to TCU Appreciation Night, Stuart Fraser, the Brahmas' majority owner and the Vice Chairman of Cantor Fitzgerald, LLC, will be speaking on the TCU campus on Friday morning, February 27, as part of the TCU Neely School of Business Lecture Series.
