- UCF won the toss and chose to defer to the second half.
- TCU has scored in 424 consecutive games, the second-longest streak in NCAA history behind Florida (476).
- The Horned Frogs failed to score on the opening offensive possession for the first time this season. TCU also allowed a touchdown on their opening defensive possession for the first time this season.
