Right-hander earns Pitcher and Newcomer of the Week honors
FORT WORTH – TCU baseball right-handed pitcher Lance Davis has been named the Big 12 Pither of the Week and the Co-Newcomer of the Week for his performance in Saturday's 6-0 win over league-leading UCF. The honors are the first of his career.
Davis was outstanding in holding UCF to just two hits and four total base runners over seven innings of work. He never faced more than four batters in an inning and in four innings, he faced the minimum. He finished the night allowing two hits, two walks and striking out five. Only one batter reached third base in the game.
Davis joins Noah Franco (Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, Feb. 16) as honorees.
The Horned Frogs return to the diamond on Tuesday night at DBU. First pitch in Dallas is set for 6:30 p.m. The contest will be televised on ESPN+.
