Horned Frogs drop second straight close road meet
WACO, Texas – In its final true-road meet of the season, the seventh-ranked TCU equestrian team fell to Baylor, 11-8, on Saturday at Willis Family Equestrian Center.
TCU (6-5) won in Fences 3-2 and tied Baylor (2-7) in Reining in the defeat. Earning an MOP for the Frogs was Sydney Sargent, the first of her career.
Just like the Oklahoma State meet, the return to Waco was the reverse score of the two teams' previous matchup at TCU earlier in the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
In a neck-and-neck battle, Baylor was able to earn an early lead with a 3-2 lead on the Flat. Madi Lo Porto and Lex Lipacis were able to salvage points for the Horned Frogs in the event.
The meet stayed hotly contested in Reining, with both teams taking two points. Sydney Sargent, the MOP earner, and Cassie Hacking scored points for TCU, while Calla Thomas tied hers.
In the second half, Baylor really earned some separation in Horsemanship taking the event 4-1. Picking up the lone win for the Frogs was Sydney Feager.
During the final event of the meet, TCU was able to take three points to set the final score. Maggie Dumrauf, Lilly Goldstein and Lex Lipacis were the point scorers for the Frogs.
