Brunson tallies third double of the season
ARLINGTON, Texas – Oklahoma handed No. 10 TCU its first loss of the season with an 12-2, 7-inning win Sunday night at Globe Life Field. The Horned Frogs were limited to just four hits in the loss.
The Rundown
After falling behind 2-0 in the first, TCU cut the deficit in half in the second. Lucas Franco worked a lead-off walk and moved to third on a Rob Liddington base hit. Nolan Traeger's sacrifice fly made it a 2-1 game.
Oklahoma's scored five two-out runs, two in the second and three in the fourth, to build a 7-1 lead. A two-run home run accounted for the runs in the second, while a hit batter, a walk and two doubles were responsible for the fourth inning tallies. The Sooners added four in the fifth to make it 11-1.
TCU picked up its final run of the contest in the sixth. Sawyer Strosnider led off the inning with a single and moved to third on a Chase Brunson double. A wild pitch allowed Strosnider to score.
Three hits in the seventh inning led to the walk-off win for Oklahoma.
Lance Davis (0-1) took the loss after allowing four runs on five hits over three innings. He walked two and struck out one.
