FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Indya Mayberry won the women's 200m championship final on Saturday afternoon at the Tyson Invitational, leading TCU track and field in another strong weekend of competition.
The sophomore turned in a season-best 22.96 in her signature event, which ranks top-10 in the NCAA this season. It marked her second time racing the 200m this indoor season as she looks to defend her Big 12 and NCAA titles in the coming weeks.
The Frogs also saw success from distance runners Anastacia Gonzales and Georgia Scott in the mile. Gonzales raced in the University Division, finishing just sixteen hundredths shy of first place. Her time of 4:40.85 moved her up to No. 4 all-time in the TCU record books. Scott, the school record holder, was one of 12 athletes to race in the Championship Division. She secured a third-place result in 4:38.86.
TCU has one final tune up in the regular season on Feb. 20 at the Crimson and Cream Qualifier before the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships.
