
Track Concludes Day One of Tyson Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – TCU track and field opened its weekend, competing at the Tyson Invitational on Friday evening.
Three Horned Frogs earned top-five finishes in their respective events including Anastacia Gonzales, who was the runner-up in the women's 800m. She ran a personal best time of 2:06.38 which ranks No. 4 in TCU history.
Sophomore sprinter Indya Mayberry clocked a pair of season-best runs in the 60m dash. In the prelims she won her heat in 7.26 and followed it up with a 7.23 in the final to earn bronze. She now owns the 15th fastest time in the NCAA this season.
Ben Kirbo cleared 5.35m (17-6 ½) in the men's pole vault. No other competitor was able to get over the next height. The senior finished fifth, after getting over the bar on his third attempt at the height.
TCU also saw a pair of impressive 3000m runs. Gabby Martin and CJ Meyer each recorded personal best times which rank top-10 all-time at TCU. Martin's 9:42.66 sits at No. 8 for the women, and Meyer's 8:13.10 ranks fifth for the men.
The Frogs are back for Day Two of the Tyson Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 14.
