Barroso Sá, Dimitrova and Min-Gaultier begin play on Tuesday in Paris
PARIS, France – Half of the Horned Frogs' returning letter winners are headed to France's capital city.
Sofia Barroso Sá, Sofie Dimitrova and Camille Min-Gaultier were selected by their home federations to participate in the 42nd European Ladies' Team Championship at Golf de Chantilly in Paris, France.
Barroso Sá is representing her native Portugal while Dimitrova and Min-Gaultier are competing for the Czech Republic and France.
The annual amateur championship is contested by 20 teams, each of six players, and runs from Monday-Friday.
Barroso Sá, Dimitrova and Min-Gaultier begin their stays in the City of Lights with a two-round stroke play qualifying competition. The tournament utilizes a six-count-five scoring format.
From there, the eight teams with the lowest aggregate scores advance to a knock-out match play over the final three days. Teams 9-20 engage in similar match play competitions to determine their final positions.
All three Horned Frogs are making their first appearances at the championship.
Min-Gaultier is representing the French Golf Federation in a match play event for the second time in three weeks. She was one of eight European amateurs to tee it up at The Vagliano Trophy Championship on June 27-28. Min-Gaultier posted a 2-1-1 record for Team Continent of Europe. Min-Gaultier earned WGCA All-American honors in May to close out her freshman campaign and carried the form onto the international circuit. She reached the third round of match play at The British Amateur Championship on June 13 and placed as the No. 2 overall qualifier at the Championnat de France the following week, shooting a nine-under 135.
Barroso Sá is the top-rated amateur player in Portugal. The rising senior recently achieved a career-best World Amateur Golf Ranking of No. 148. Barroso Sá made consecutive cuts at a pair of Ladies European Tour events in June. She began the month by tying for 30th at the Tenerife Women's Open and posted an eight-under 208 at the Czech Ladies Open on June 22 in her most recent outing.
Dimitrova placed third in the Czech Republic team championship qualification in May. The soon-to-be junior was one-over (145) over her final 36 holes. She played in 12 tournaments over her first two years in Fort Worth. Dimitrova was the Horned Frogs' top performer as a freshman at the 2024 Big 12 Championship. She improved her season scoring average by nearly two strokes in 2024-25, finishing with a mark of 74.6 after posting an average of 76.2 as a first-year player.
