McAlister and Clark honored by league media
FORT WORTH – Two TCU Horned Frogs were selected to the Preseason Big 12 All-Conference team as voted upon by a selection of league media members. Wide receiver Eric McAlister (offense) and safety Bud Clark (defense) were recognized.
McAlister was second on the squad last season with 762 yards receiving and fourth with 39 catches. In addition, he scored five touchdowns. He led the nation with 89.7 percent (35-of-39) of his receptions being for first downs (min. 25 catches) and ranked 10th in the FBS and sixth among Power Four Conference players with his team-best average of 19.5 yards per catch.
Clark finished the 2024 campaign with 67 tackles, good for fourth on the squad and led the team with three interceptions. A veteran on the squad, Clark has played in 50 career games. He has totaled 158 tackles over the course of his career in addition to recording 11 interceptions, which is ninth all-time in program history.
McAlister and Clark were recognized earlier this summer on Phil Steele's 2025 Preseason Big 12 Team. McAlister was the Frogs' lone first-team selection, while Clark was named to the second team. The pair were also named to Dave Campbell's Texas Football All-Texas Team. McAlister was a first-team honoree, while Clark was a second team selection.
TCU's 2025 season kicks off on Sept. 1 at North Carolina.
