Beauchamp ties career-low
HENDERSON, Nev. – TCU moved up six spots in the second round of the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate on Tuesday at Reflection Bay Golf Club.
One day after shooting 12-over, the Horned Frogs were 13-under 275. Overall, TCU is 1-under par, three strokes out of fourth place. Long Beach State leads the tournament at 25-under par.
Jack Beauchamp was one of three Frogs who shot under par. Beauchamp tied a career-low 7-under 65. After a bogey on his first hole, Beauchamp was 9-under through the remaining holes with six birdies and one eagle. After an opening round 6-over 78, Beauchamp jumped up 52 spots and is tied for 19th at 1-under 143.
Leading TCU overall is freshman Charlie Wylie who broke 70 for the first time in his college career with a season-best 5-under 67. He totaled four birdies and one eagle and jumped to a tie for 16th place at 2-under 142.
Joe Pagdin was 2-over 74 for the round and moved to 2-over 146 for the tournament. He is tied for 34th place, along with Scott Roden who is competing as an individual and shot even-par 72.
Toby Wilt was seven shots better than Monday with a score of 2-under 70. He put together a front nine score of 3-under 33 and moved up 13 spots to a tie for 49th place at 3-over 147.
A shotgun start will begin the final round on Wednesday starting at 10:30 a.m. CT.
