USWNT opens play on Feb, 20 vs. Colombia in Houston
FORT WORTH – Former TCU women's soccer standout Yazmeen Ryan has been selected to the U.S. Women's National Team for the 2025 SheBelieves Cup.
The 2025 SheBelieves Cup, presented by Visa, will take place Feb. 20-26 and will feature the top-ranked U.S. Women's National Team, No. 7 Japan, No. 15 Australia, and No. 21 Colombia. The competition returns to its traditional six-game, three-matchday format after being played as a four-game, two-date tournament last year due to FIFA's adjusted calendar in Olympic years. The USWNT will face Colombia on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. in Houston, Australia in Glendale, Ariz on Feb. 23 at 4 p.m. and Japan in San Diego, Calif. on Feb. 26 at 9:30 p.m.
While at TCU, Ryan led the Horned Frogs to the Elite Eight in 2021, scoring seven goals and adding six assists for a team-best 20 points. She was named a 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist, a United Soccer Coaches First-Team All-American, and a member of the TopDrawerSoccer First-Team Best XI. She earned four all-conference selections, including three first-team honors and one second-team nod during her time as a Horned Frog.
Ryan was selected in the first round of the 2021 NWSL Draft by the Portland Thorns. As a member of NJ/NY Gotham FC, she won the 2023 NWSL Championship—her fourth trophy since making her professional debut in 2021. In 2024, she was named to the NWSL Best XI Second Team after finishing the season with five goals and six assists. Since her debut, she has appeared in 82 regular-season matches, recording nine goals and 12 assists. She currently plays for the Houston Dash
