Second TCU horse to receive honor this season
WACO, Texas – Katie, a horse for TCU equestrian, has been tabbed as the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Horse of the Month for November, the organization released on Thursday.
Katie is the second Horned Frog horse to receive the honor, joining Player who won it in October.
Since being donated in April of 2024, Katie has been steadily learning and improving in her role with the team. This fall, she has stepped up on the flat, consistently earning top scores the fall season.
Against Oklahoma State, she scored an 81 which was the high score for the event and enough to earn her an MOP accolade. She followed that up with an 85.5 the following week against Baylor, the second-highest score at the event.
She wasn't done there, scoring a 94 and 89 against Auburn, and the 94 tied the event high score. Katie closed out her fall with another stellar ride, scoring an 81 during the Georgia meet.
