
Frogs Race to Second-Place Finish at NCAA West Regionals

FORT WORTH, Texas – Racing at home for the first and only time this season, TCU triathlon earned a second-place team finish at the NCAA West Regionals on Saturday, tallying 406 points to cap off an impressive showing in front of the home crowd.
In addition to the second-place finish, Jenna Buchanan, Maria Coral, Amanda Moro, Sara Gimena, Gwen Watson, Marley Andelman, and Annabella Veltcheva all punched their tickets to the National Championship meet.
Freshman Watson led the Horned Frogs early, exiting the water first for TCU. During the bike leg, the team split into two main packs, maintaining a strong overall position against the regional field.
Andelman was the first Frog to transition onto the run, followed closely by Gimena and Veltcheva. Andelman went on to secure a top-10 overall finish, crossing the line as TCU's top performer on the day.
With the strong regional performance, seven Horned Frogs are set to compete at the NCAA National Championship in Tempe, Ariz., on Nov. 8.
