First conference honor of the sophomore’s career
FORT WORTH – After nailing three field goals in a game decided by just six points in West Virginia, TCU kicker Nate McCashland has been named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
The Lincoln, Nebraska, native recorded field goals of 35-, 22- and 41-yards. His make from 41 was a career long, breaking the 35-yard make from the first quarter.
McCashland's three field goals were tied for the most in the Big 12 this week, and he was the only kicker to go three-for-three or better in week nine.
He is the seventh different Horned Frog to win a Big 12 weekly honor this season, and a TCU player has picked up an accolade after all six of TCU's wins this season.
