
Gray and Ngao Lead Track and Field at Ted Nelson Invitational

Gray wins 60m and 200m; Ngao takes down facility record
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – TCU track and field wrapped up a strong day of competition at the Ted Nelson Invitational on Saturday, winning three events and earning 31 top 10 finishes.
Iyana Gray and Tabitha Ngao highlighted the success on the track for the Horned Frogs. Gray won the 60m and 200m, while Ngao took the 800m title and set the Aggies facility record at the R.A. "Murray" Fasken '38 Indoor Track.
The day started quickly with Amari Kiluvia and Alleah Krote advancing to the finals in the 60m hurdles. They went on to finish sixth and seventh with times of 8.54 and 8.56, respectively. In the 60m sprint, three more Frogs punched their tickets to the final. Gray led all women with a 7.40 and dropped down to a 7.36 in the final to best the field. Freshman London Tucker also secured one of the eight finals spots and made the most of her opportunity, placing third with a 7.41. On the men's side, Sanjay Salmon won his heat to advance to the final, where he finished sixth in a season-best 6.84.
Making her TCU debut in the mile, mid-year transfer Anastacia Gonzales crossed the finish line fifth in the mile with an impressive 4:49.79, the fifth best performance in school history. Distance runners Drew Oliver and Stone Burke also recorded top 10 times in program history in the mile, running personal best times of 4:08.01 and 4:10.39, respectively.
Freshman Ronnie Kendrick had a strong showing in the 400m, posting a career-best 47.16 to win his section and place fourth in the field of 29 runners.
In the 800m, Georgia Scott ran her way into the record books with a personal best and top 10 time in TCU history (2:12.90, ninth). Four men finished in the top six of the 800m, led by Lloyd Frilot, who took second overall.
In the field events, TCU also saw great success. Sam Callaway threw a personal best 14.95m (49-¾) shot put mark, improving her standing in the Frogs' top 10 performance list. Benjamin Kirbo earned a second-place finish in a pole-vaulting duel that ended at 5.33m.
Krote placed fourth in the triple jump in just her second collegiate meet. She posted a massive one-foot personal best jumping 12.75m (41-10) to make herself the fifth best performer in the event in school history. For the men, Damilare Olukosi posted the second-best jump of the day, 15.66m (51-4½). He is now the eighth best performer ever at TCU. Emma Seetoo and Tucker also placed eighth and ninth in the long jump, respectively.
