TCU will fully participate at the maximum level in revenue sharing with its student-athletes
FORT WORTH -- TCU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jeremiah Donati has announced the formation of a Strategic Leadership Team within his Executive Staff to best position the Horned Frogs for future success as the landscape of intercollegiate athletics rapidly changes.
When the House vs. NCAA case reaches settlement, TCU will fully participate at the maximum level in revenue sharing with its student-athletes.
Donati's Strategic Leadership Team will be instrumental in best positioning the department with forward-thinking initiatives in the fluid environment for TCU's student-athletes, coaches and staff. The Strategic Leadership Team with their new titles consists of:
•Ryan Peck, Senior Deputy Athletics Director for External Affairs / Revenue Generation
•Mike Sinquefield, Senior Deputy Athletics Director / Chief Administrative Officer
•Gretchen Bouton, Deputy Athletics Director for Student Services
•Greg Featherston, Deputy Athletics Director for Compliance
•Kim Johnson, Deputy Athletics Director / Senior Woman Administrator
•Bennett Askew, Senior Associate Athletics Director / Athletics Financial Officer
"We are entering a historic and transformative era of college athletics," Donati said. "It is absolutely critical that we adapt and conform to the new realities. We have therefore convened a leadership group who - in addition to their day-to-day responsibilities - will be assisting me and University leadership in shaping our path forward to best position TCU Athletics for continued success."
In addition to continuing to supervise all external units, Peck will oversee the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center and support all sports on external revenue generation and NIL strategies. Sinquefield will have a lead role in creating a new internal department responsible for the administration of future revenue sharing with student-athletes. Bouton will take the lead in next summer's opening of the $52 million Human Performance Center Renovation and Expansion projects. She will also continue to oversee all student-athlete facing units. Featherston will maintain oversight of TCU's compliance efforts in addition to newly appointed sport administration responsibilities. In her SWA role, Johnson represents TCU in all governance matters on the conference and national level as well as serving as the department's Title IX Coordinator and liaison to the Office of Institutional Equity. She will now be overseeing academic services. Askew took over all aspects of TCU's business office this past summer and will continue to serve as the Athletics Financial Officer.
Additionally, Julie Austin is now Senior Associate Athletics Director for Marketing/Branding and Sean Conner is Senior Associate Athletics Director for Ticket Operations. Their roles will be instrumental in enhancing the TCU brand nationally and driving strategy to promote revenue growth. Sassan Sahba will be Senior Associate Athletics Director for Facilities and Event Operations with a key role in future facility expansion projects as part of the recently unveiled TCU Master Plan. Ray Walls is now Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development that will promote NIL brand development, career success and community initiatives, while Shawn Worthen is the newly appointed Senior Associate Athletics Director for Academic Services.
Austin, Conner, Sahba, Walls and Worthen are joined by several other key staff members – Mark Cohen, Jay Fields, Monica Flynn, Joe Foley and Steven Schoon – to round out the Executive Team. This group continues to meet regularly to direct administrative strategies.
"Thanks to the efforts of our entire department and especially our Executive Team, there has never been a better time to be at TCU – whether you are an alum, current student, staff member or especially a student-athlete," Donati added. "Our future is extremely bright as we prepare for the anticipated changes happening across the industry."
