13-meet schedule features six home matchups
FORT WORTH - TCU 2024-25 equestrian's schedule features nine home meets, a return to the Stock Show and the hosting of this year's Big 12 Championship. The Horned Frogs will compete 13 times from September to March, with six matches against Big 12 Conference teams.
The season officially kicks off at Bear Creek Farms, where TCU will host the defending National Champions, SMU, on Sept. 20. This marks the second consecutive year that the Frogs open their season against their crosstown rivals, the Mustangs.
The team will then travel to Auburn, Ala. to compete against the Tigers on Sept. 27 followed by a short road trip to Athens, Ga. on Sept. 28 to take on the Bulldogs. The Frogs will return home for two consecutive Big 12 meets at Bear Creek Farms against Oklahoma State on Oct. 3 and Baylor on Oct. 10.
The fall season concludes with three away meets: Fresno State on Oct. 18, SMU on Oct. 25, and Texas A&M on Nov. 1.
Following winter break, TCU kicks off the spring season at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo (FWSSR) against South Dakota State on Jan. 30 at the John Justin Arena, continuing a seven-year tradition. The Frogs will then travel for a Big 12 match up at Oklahoma State on Feb. 21, followed by a home meet against Texas A&M on Feb. 27. The Horned Frogs will hit the road one more time in the regular season for an away meet at Baylor on March 1. The regular season and Big 12 play will wrap up with a home meet against Fresno State on March 7, featuring Senior Day celebrations.
The Frogs will then host the Big 12 Championship at Bear Creek Farms on March 28-29.
Postseason play will begin at the NCEA National Championships, held at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Fla., from April 17-19. TCU has participated in the NCEA National Championships since the program began in 2006-07.
The Frogs are looking to capitalize on last year's impressive season. The team achieved the program's highest winning percentage of .824 and recorded their best overall record of 14-3. The team also marked an 11-meet winning streak and went 6-0 in conference play.
Start times for all meets will be announced in the coming weeks.
