Jepkemboi Shatters Kenyan National Javelin Record

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Irene Jepkemboi's dominant performance in the javelin highlighted a successful day for TCU at the Texas A&M Invitational on Saturday in College Station, Texas.
Jepkemboi broke the Kenyan National record and the TCU record as well with her winning throw of 57.23m (187-9). She shattered the previous Kenyan record of 53.58m set by Cecilia Kiplangat in 2007.
Her mark is now the No. 2 throw in the NCAA this season. It's just the second meet of the freshman's career.
TCU collected 14 event wins on the day. In the women's long jump, Emma Seetoo jumped the ninth-farthest mark in outdoor program history with her personal-best 6.21m (20-4.50).
The women's 4x100 team shined, winning the event with a time of 43.66. The squad of Teanna Harlin, Mikayla Hayes, Breanna Harlin and Iyana Gray ran the third-fastest outdoor time in program history.
Rylan Engels ran a personal-best 4:25.15 in the women's 1500m – good for the fifth-fastest outdoor time in program history. On the men's side, Graydon Morris' 3:46.62 is the sixth-fastest men's 1500m time in school history.
TCU swept the women's 800m. Gracie Morris made her outdoor season debut and won the 800m with her time of 2:04.15. Jasmin Muhammad-Graham (2:05.35) finished second and is now No. 2 on TCU's all-time outdoor list. Tabitha Kalunde Ngao (2:08.61) is now No. 6 in TCU history with her third-place time.
On the men's side, the Frogs claimed the top two spots in the 800m. Ryan Martin collected the win with his personal-best time of 1:49.04. Lloyd Frilot's time of 1:49.64 was good for second.
The Frogs shined in the 400m hurdles. Tia Williams' winning time of 58.12 is good for the second-fastest time in school history, Amelliah Birdow (58.26) placed second and is now third on TCU's all-time records list. Also collecting a win in the 400m hurdles was Jayden Douglas with his time of 51.89.
TCU also collected a pair of wins in the 200m. Teanna Harlin's winning time of 23.13 is the eighth-fastest mark in TCU history. Kashie Crockett ran a personal-best time of 20.64 to claim first on the men's side.
The Morris twins were unstoppable for TCU in the 5000m. Gracie Morris won with her time of 16:49.53 while Graydon Morris placed first with his time of 14:14.26.
Reese Pokluda won the men's pole vault B with his height of 5.05m (16-6.75). It's now the third-highest mark in outdoor program history.
