Student-Athletes of the Month for November
FORT WORTH – Pedro Vives and Lui Maxted of men's tennis, Sedona Prince of women's basketball, Jade Otway and Isabel Pascual of women's tennis, and Savion Williams of football were named TCU Student-Athletes for the Month for November.
Vives and Maxted clinched the NCAA Doubles Championship, marking the program's first individual national title since 1981. Both earned All-American honors in singles and doubles, joining an elite group of eight players in program history, and are now four-time national champions after leading TCU to consecutive ITA Indoor and NCAA team titles. Notably, Vives became the first tennis player of Spanish descent to win an NCAA Individual Championship, while Maxted's run to the NCAA Singles quarterfinals qualified him for the ATP Next Gen Accelerator program.
Sedona Prince has been a dominant force for TCU, earning Big 12 Player of the Week twice and Associated Press National Player of the Week honors after leading the Frogs to an 8-0 start and a No. 9 AP ranking. Averaging 20.1 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 4.3 blocks per game, Prince became the first player in NCAA history to post 20 points, 20 rebounds, and eight blocks against a ranked team, earning Tournament MVP at the Cayman Islands Classic. Prince leads the nation in blocks and is the only Division I player averaging 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game, etching her name in the Big 12 for rebounds and blocks and ranking third in scoring.
Otway and Pascual made history for TCU Women's Tennis by advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championships, becoming the program's first All-Americans since 2007 and the first doubles pair to reach the quarterfinals in 17 years. Ranked No. 12 nationally, they secured a 5-8 seed in the tournament after a strong performance, including a third-place finish in the ITA Sectionals doubles draw.
Savion Williams was a standout for the Horned Frogs in November, leading TCU in rushing, receiving and touchdowns. He totaled 166 rushing yards with five touchdowns and 21 receptions for 175 yards. Williams became the first Horned Frog since 2017 to throw a touchdown pass while achieving a rushing, receiving, and passing touchdown in the same season. His standout performance included a career-high 80 rushing yards on nine carries, two touchdowns and three receptions in the victory over Arizona.
