Kwong Named Big 12 Diver of the Week

Kwong earns third conference honor this season
FORT WORTH – Anna Kwong of the TCU swimming and diving team was named the Big 12 Diver of the Week for the third time this season.
Kwong recently made program history by becoming the first female diver to secure first place at the Texas Diving Invitational scoring a 313.00 in the 1-meter against four ranked opponents. She was one of the only two divers to break the 300-point threshold in both of her springboard events.
In the 3-meter event, Kwong achieved a score of 325.80, placing fifth in the prelims and seventh in the finals. Her overall performance earned her fifth place in total points scored for the women, outscoring competitors from ranked programs like the University of Texas, Stanford, and Texas A&M.
Earlier this season, Kwong set season-best scores in the 1-meter and 3-meter events against SMU and Arkansas. The senior dominated the women's 1-meter event with a score of 334.05, winning the event with a 27-point gap. In the 3-meter, she scored a 341.75 narrowly placing second by less than four points.
This recognition marks Anna's ninth Big 12 Diver of the Week honor in her career. She earned the accolade twice her freshman year, three times her sophomore year, and once in her junior year.
The diving team will return to action in January with a women's meet on Jan. 17 against Iowa State.
