
Gupta-Baltazar and Moro Named CTCA Second Team All-Americans

Both finished in the top-15 at NCAA Nationals last weekend, leading the team to a fourth place finish.
FORT WORTH – Kira Gupta-Baltazar and Amanda Moro of TCU triathlon were named to the CTCA All-American Second Team, the outlet announced Monday. Both finished in the top-15 at NCAA Nationals last weekend, leading the team to a fourth place finish.
After the swim portion of Nationals, Gupta-Baltazar was leading the way with the fastest swim split of 9:11. She ended the race in 11th overall, clocking in a 1:00:16. Moro had the 11th fastest run time, propelling her to a 14th place finish overall with a time of 1:00:41.
At Eastern Regionals, Gupta-Baltazar led the way for the Frogs in fifth with a time of 59:28, her best finish of the season. Moro followed behind in sixth, clocking in a 59:47.
Moro has competed in four races so far this season, finishing in the top-15 of each one. Her best finish came at the Duquesne University Invitational where she placed third behind Jenna Buchanan. At Battle in the Fort, Moro came in ninth place with the fastest time for TCU that afternoon.
Gupta-Baltazar has had one other top-10 finish this season, placing ninth at the Southern Hills Triathlon in August.
In just its second year of competition, the TCU triathlon team improved two spots from last year's sixth-place finish at Nationals. The Horned Frogs will compete individually over the spring season and look to return next fall for a chance to improve even more.
