Linebacker has a team-best 46 tackles this season
NEW YORK -- TCU linebacker Johnny Hodges has been named to the October Comeback Player of the Year Watch List, presented by the College Sports Communicators in conjunction with the Associated Press and Fiesta Bowl Organization.
Since 2018, the award has recognized college football student-athletes for overcoming injury, illness or other circumstances.
After being limited by injury to four games last year, Hodges is TCU's leading tackler with 46 stops this season. His 2.5 tackles for loss tie for third on the team.
Hodges had a team-best 87 tackles in 2022 as TCU reached the College Football Playoff National Championship. He was the 2022 Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year and Second-Team All-Big 12. He was the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week after a season-high 11 tackles, including 1.5 for loss, as TCU held Texas to 199 yards of offense in a 17-10 win in Austin.
