Second No. 1 ranking in program history
FORT WORTH – TCU finds themselves on top of the collegiate equestrian world for the second time in program history.
The Horned Frogs earned the No. 1 overall ranking in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Dual Discipline Team Rankings for the second time since Oct. 4, 2022 on Tuesday.
"This is an honor for a hardworking and deserving team," said director of equestrian Haley Schoolfield. "That being said, this is the beginning of our long journey through the season. We will continue to keep our eyes on our next opponent and work on daily improvements."
TCU was tabbed No. 3 in the NCEA Dual Discipline preseason poll on Sept. 20. The Horned Frogs then staked their claim to the top spot in the rankings with their dominate win over then-No. 1 SMU on Sept. 22, 12-6.
The Horned Frogs will have the week off from defending their No. 1 ranking before traveling to Stillwater, Okla. on Oct. 5 to face No. 5 Oklahoma State in the first Big 12 matchup of the season.
TCU is one-of-three Big 12 schools featured in the rankings, OSU is slotted No. 5 and Baylor lands at No. 7.
