
Big Second Half Leads to Win in Europe Opener

Peavy scores a team-high 16 points in a balanced scoring effort
PARIS – TCU outscored the Areus All-Stars, 59-34, in the second half to win 110-75 Monday in its opening exhibition game of a France-Europe Foreign Tour.
Micah Peavy led five Horned Frogs in double figures with 16 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Jameer Nelson Jr. scored 14 points and tied JaKobe Coles with a game-high five assists. Emanuel Miller recorded 13 points and Trevian Tennyson and Essam Mostafa scored 12 each.
After leading most of the game early on, TCU trailed 37-35, with 4:57 to play. The Frogs ended the half on a 16-4 run, capped off by a layup from freshman Jace Posey, who finished with eight points on 3-of-6 shooting. Fellow freshman Isaiah Manning had eight points to go with three steals.
TCU was 11-of-18 from the field in the third period and outscored the all-stars 29-15, to lead 80-56 at the end of three quarters. With the game out of reach, TCU was able to play all 17 players on its roster for at least two minutes. The Frogs held a 30-19 advantage in the fourth quarter.
All 12 scholarship players saw fairly even playing time at 12 or more minutes each.
TCU will face Elite Basket Congo at 9 a.m. CT/4 p.m. CET on Tuesday. The Horned Frogs will then visit Camps Elysses and Arc de Triomphe during the evening.
