The Rundown
Five batters into the game, TCU had a 4-0 lead. With the bases loaded, Tre Richardson cranked the first pitch he saw over the right center field fence for his first grand slam of the game. TCU added two more runs in the frame on an Austin Davis base hit.
TCU tacked on five more runs in the second to open up an 11-1 lead. Elijah Nunez scored on a Brayden Taylor base knock for the first run of the inning. A walk to Cole Fontenelle loaded the bases and Richardson delivered again with his second grand slam of the game.
Taylor joined the home run parade with a three run shot in the third to push the advantage to 14-1.
TCU responded to an Arkansas two run home run in the fifth with one of its own as Tre Richardson joined the history books with his third home run of the game for a 16-3 lead.
Karson Bowen's RBI-single brought home TCU's 17th run of the game as the Frogs once again responded to an Arkansas run with one of their own to make it a 17-4 ballgame.
The Frogs struck for three more runs in the ninth to run the score to 20-5. Fontenelle, Richardson and Bryne collected the RBIs in the frame.
Lost in the offense was a tremendous start for Sam Stoutenborough (4-0). He allowed four runs on six hits and struck out five. The right-hander had to battle back from a 59 minute rain delay after the second inning. Hunter Hodges allowed a run on one hit and struck out one. Mason Speaker stuck out five and gave up three hits in his two innings of work to close out the game.
